Crocheting
We start by teaching the very basics to the beginners. They will learn the single stitch, the half double stitch and the double stitch while making either a pillow or a bag (their choice). The older group will continue working on these stitches only making something a little more difficult (what they make varies depending on how well they are doing). Learning to read a pattern is also being worked on all the way through. Several of our past crocheters have entered their work in the 4 H fair and done very well!! The 4th graders are the new ones coming in. In order to be in the older class you must have been in the beginning class or at least know the basics. A snack is provided. Donations are always welcome as the kids love to eat! Flyers to register your 4th grader are sent out with every 4th grader at the elementary school at the beginning of the school year. Names will be kept of the older group and they will be contacted to see if they would like to continue on for another year.
